Great Wave is pleased to announce a virtual discussion led by Great Wave’s Bradley Kyonin Moody in which we will explore the long, complementary relationship between music and Buddhism.
This fascinating series will cover three main topics: traditional forms of Buddhist music; Buddhist themes in contemporary music; and Buddhist practice in the context of music performance and composition. Participants will be provided with music playlists and questions to prompt discussion on how certain pieces or styles of music relate to key Buddhist concepts. This series is open to all, regardless of experience with music or Buddhism.
Our discussions will take place via Zoom on May 28, June 4, and June 11, starting at 1:00 PM. Prior to each meeting, participants will be provided with music playlists as well as questions for consideration.
To participate, please complete our Event Registration Form. We ask for a $10 donation toward this series of events. However, if this amount represents a financial hardship for you, please request a scholarship on the registration form.
