In accordance with the millennia-old tradition, Great Wave performs Fusatsu, the renewal of vows ceremony, once a month, during the regular weekly meditation meeting that falls closest to the full moon. Fusatsu is a time for us to reflect on how we have maintained the 16 Bodhisattva Precepts and is ordinarily preceded by a Day of Reflection.
Anyone may participate either in-person or via Zoom, regardless of background or membership status. If participating in-person, you must have received an orientation to Great Wave and have completed registration for Weekly In-Person Zazen Meetings.
If participating via Zoom, you must have received an orientation to Zen practice at Great Wave and will need to download a copy of the ceremony. Further guidance may be provided by the Ino (chant leader) during the ceremony.
